Tourism always has been one of the major contributors to the economy of The Philippines. It currently accounts for around 9% of the country’s GDP. The Philippines is particularly famous for having some of the most idyllic beaches, rainforests, mountainous regions, and diving spots in the world.

With Business Mapper, it is possible to plot, monitor, analyze, and gather a wide range of tourism related data and information. Landmarks and points of interests that are popular with tourists can be plotted. A user also has the ability to create a vast array of layers and buffers. These can be used to track which places and types of places are most popular with tourists, where tourists spend their money, and what they spend their money on within a certain location or area radius. This method could be used through measuring tourists and the business they generate within a square kilometer of a certain area. The business density would be derived from the POI managed service inside Business Mapper. By using maintained and up to date points of interest (POIs) the data will be accurate and relevant.

Customer profiling methods would also be essential for gathering tourism related data, based on tourists being the customers.

By comparing and analyzing the information and data mentioned above, you can see which types of places, activities, or businesses attract tourism and why. (For example, you could plot which landmarks, restaurants, hotels, beaches, routes, bars, and nightclubs are most frequented by tourists).

Gathered information can be used to decide what new attractions could be created for tourists, gather an approximation of how much revenue is collected, and how much revenue could potentially be collected from tourists in an area. Business Mapper is an essential data mining tool for these reasons.

Customer profiling with the android survey add-on could be used to see where potential tourists go and analyze their spending patterns.

Business Mapper could also be used to increase the safety of tourists in the Philippines. For example, relevant officials and organizations could see which type of crimes are most frequently committed against tourists, as well as where they occur. Data can be monitored and analyzed in order to try and establish why these crimes happen in certain locations and plan how to prevent future crimes against tourists from happening.

By identifying where most money is being spent by tourists and what they spend it on you can analyze where the opportunities for most growth are for a range of business types and industries.

Business Mapper allows you to find tourism growth opportunities without increasing sales and marketing assets. Although some data is available regarding tourist information in the Philippines, none of it is as streamlined, detailed, and visually clear as data and information that can be gathered from Business Mapper.
